Day 01 : - Arrive Delhi
On your arrival in Delhi the capital of India, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. This magnificent city has been inhabited from the 6th century BC and has been a capital of many kingdoms. Delhi's culture has been influenced by its different rulers and the city is full of beautiful monuments. The Mughal rulers influenced the food habits of the residents and Mughlai cuisine originated here. Old Delhi is a maze of small lanes lined and old buildings and New Delhi has large road with huge buildings.
Your morning Old Delhi tour starts with Raj Ghat where father Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. You will be driven past the iconic Red Fort and Chandni Chowk, a very popular and a busy market in Old Delhi to the next stop - Jama Masjid, one of the iconic, historic and largest mosques in India - built by Shah Jahan. A rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk is worth taking. The numerous shops here sell delicious mouth-watering food, clothes, jewels, household goods, etc. and are virtually a shopper's paradise.
In the afternoon New Delhi tour you will visit Qutub Minar a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1192 by Turk ruler Qutub-Ud-Din Aibak. You will then move forward to Humayun’s tomb, yet another UNESCO world heritage site. Your next stop is India Gate, built in memory of the Unknown Soldier. You will drive past Parliament House, President’s House and other Government Secretarial Buildings. Your final destination is Lakshminarayan Temple dedicated to Lakshmi and Lord Narayana. Day 02 :- Delhi to Jaipur by train.
Today morning you will be transferred to the rail-station for your Jaipur train. You will arrive Jaipur and will be transferred to your hotel. Jaipur also known as the pink city is the capital of Rajasthan. Many captivating palaces are present here having breathtaking design and architecture. In the 18th century Prince of Wales had visited Jaipur and the entire city was painted in pink color and due to these pink buildings the city is known as the pink city. It was built by Maharaja Jai Singh and Jaipur got its name from this king.
Today you will visit Amer fort also known as Amer Palace or Amber and was the ancient capital of Jaipur. This magnificent fort was constructed in red sand-stone and marble by Raja Man Singh. Near the Ganesh Gate, there is a temple dedicated to the Goddess Sila Devi. The Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Sheesh Mahal and Sukh Niwas are quite beautiful. At the he Sukh Niwas, a pleasant climate is created by winds that blow over a water cascade. You could ascend the fort by walking up the steps or on an elephant's back or in jeeps.
In the afternoon tour you will visit the seven storied Maharaja's City Palace which is a perfect blend of Mughal, Rajput and European architecture. Your next stop is Jantar Mantar, the observatory which attracts mathematician and astronomers from all over. You will visit Hawa Mahal popular for its magnificent architecture. A tour of Jaipur is not complete without shopping for clothes, carpets, jewelry, various handicrafts, silk paintings and miniatures. The transport is at your disposal with-in the city limits. Day 03 :- Jaipur to Agra by train.
Early morning you will be transferred to the rail-station for your Agra train. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Agra the former capital of Hindustan is a city on the banks of the river Yamuna. Agra is a major tourist destination of India and a part of the Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Delhi and Jaipur. Agra also known as Akbarabad went through its peak during the time of Mughals and was the capital of under the Mughal rulers Akbar, Jahangir and Shahjehan. Agra is famous for inlaid marble work and handicrafts.
The afternoon tour of Agra will take you to the Taj Mahal, which was built in white marble by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of wife Queen Mumtaz Mahal. You will continue with the tour stopping at the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will visit Khas Mahal, Jahangir Palace, Diwan-e-Aam and Diwan-e-Khas. TAJ MAHAL IS CLOSED ON FRIDAYS. The evening Mohabbet-The Taj show could be quite interesting. The transport is at your disposal with-in the city limits.
Day 04 :- Agra.
You have a free day in the Mughal city Agra to explore the various monuments and bazaars. You could optionally visit Sikandra or Dayal Bagh Mandir or Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World heritage site from the 16th century. Here, you will be visiting the Jama Masjid, the Tomb of Salim Chishti, Panch Mahal and Buland Darwaza. You will visit the other graceful buildings in Fatehpur Sikri - Ibadat Khana, Mariam-uz-Zamani’s palace, Naubat Khana and Birbal’s house.
Sikandra houses the tomb of the Mughal emperor Akbar. According to Tartary traditions, Akbar himself planned and started the construction. The tomb was finished by Akbar's son Jahangir in 1613. The construction was done in red sandstone with features in white marble. Dayal Bagh is a beautiful temple being made in white marble. The construction started in 1904 and to this date it continues. The carvings in white and colored marble and other semi precious stones are life-like. Overnight is in Agra.
Day 05 :- Agra to Gwalior by train.
This morning you will be transferred to the rail-station for your Gwalior train. On your arrival in Gwalior, you will be transferred to your hotel. Gwalior, a historical town was founded by the King Surajesan. The legend is that Prince Suraj Sen lost his way in the jungle. On meeting a sage Gwalipa the Prince asked for water and was led water which quenched his thirst as well as cured him of leprosy. In return, the sage asked him to construct a wall to protect the sages from wild animals. The Prince obliged and named the place Gwalior after the sage. Gwalior is the birth-place of world class musician Tansen.
Gwalior is known for its sacred temples, beautiful palaces and monuments. Your afternoon tour will take you to Man Mandir, Gujari Mahal, Teli Ka Mandir, Sas-bahu Temple, Jai Vilas Palace, Mausoleum of Tansen and Tomb of Gaus Mohammad. Gwalior is the birth-place of world class musician Tansen and every winter a huge cultural festival is organized in memory of Tansen, which attracts music lover from across the world. Day 06 :- Gwalior to Jhansi by train and drive to Khajuraho.
You will be transferred today morning to rail-station for Jhansi train. On your arrival you in Jhansi, you will drive to Khajuraho. Khajuraho is known for its erotic and beautiful temples. These temples were constructed by the Chandelas during 950 AD to 1050 AD. After the period of Chandelas, these temples were forgotten and covered with dense palm-date trees. The name Khajuraho comes from the date trees known as Khajur trees in Hindi. In the year 1838, Capt. T.S. Burt and an engineer from British army rediscovered this place.
Day 07 :- Khajuraho
This morning you will Chaunset Yogini Kali Temple, Bharatji or Chitragupta temple that is composed of magnificent 11 headed pictures of Lord Vishnu, Lakshmana Temple, Mahadev Temple, Vishvanath Temples and Shiva’s Visha Temple. The Parasvanath Temple is the only Jain temple that still exists. The Javeri Temple is dedicated to the Hindu Lord Vishnu. The other temples you can visit are dedicated to Lord Brahma, Lord Adinath and Yamuna. You have a free afternoon for visiting more places of interest. Overnight is in Khajuraho.
Day 08:- Khajuraho to Varanasi by flight.
Today you will be transferred to airport for your Varanasi flight. On arrival in Varanasi, you will be transferred to your hotel. Your have time is at leisure. Varanasi or Benaras or Banaras or Kashi is said to be the oldest living city in the world, dating back to 5000 years. It was the cultural and spiritual capital of North India. Varanasi is also known as the holy city of India or the city of temples, or the city of learning. Hindus believe that death in Varanasi leads to salvation. Overnight is in Varanasi.
Day 09:- Varanasi to Delhi
Your early morning boat excursion on the river Ganges will take you to Manikarnika and Harishchandra ghats, which are frequented by devotees. These two ghats are quite famous not only for taking a holy dip, but also for cremation purposes. It is strongly believed by Hindus that whoever dies in Varanasi and gets cremated on bank of river Ganga achieves salvation, thereby releasing him form this birth cycle. You may witness numerous funeral pyres burning around in these ghats. Check out from the hotel is at 1200 hrs. Later in the evening you will be transferred to rail station for Delhi night train. Overnight is on board train.
Day 10:- Delhi.
On arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure for shopping and more visits. You could take an optional tour of Swaminarayan Akshardham - one of the world's largest temple complexes and built from pink sandstone and Italian marble. The temple has 234 pillars, nine domes, 20,000 idols of sages and 148 of full sized elephants. Yagnapurush Kund is a large step well with a musical fountain. Day 11:- Departure
This morning you will be transferred to Delhi airport for your connecting flight.
